I was thinking about the big trees and nice lakes in Midland, MI; and how much I miss that area. My grandma Eunice used to paint watercolor a little like this. She had much better technique than I do now. I am very grateful for the artistic heritage that God Blessed me with.
Yes...it is true believe it or not I have not painted a true oil painting until now. I know being an artist basically means that you paint with oils at some time....maybe that is why I stayed away from it. I can say however that I am truly enjoying the medium. After all this pencil, color pencil, and watercolor I feel as though I have finally reached adolescence as an artist. Of course, I have not yet finished the painting, and I have much to learn; yet I definitely have that artistic gratification with this current piece. I will have Yoda up for sale soon.
